Star City Building Dedicated to William “Bill” Lewis

Buffalo, IN – LightStream is very proud to dedicate their Star City building to William E. “Bill” Lewis. Bill worked at Pulaski White Rural Telephone Cooperative (PWRTC) from September 1954 to September 1997. As an employee of 43 years and General Manager for approximately 30 years, he was an integral piece of introducing dial tone, touch tone dialing, internet, and calling features to our members.

LightStream CEO and President Brent Gillum says, “Bill Lewis was that someone who was called upon when there was a need. He always knew how to get the job done. LightStream is what it is today because of Bill’s vision and commitment to the highest quality service.”

Bill was always an advocate for keeping Star City a vibrant town. He served on the Volunteer Fire Department, Lions Club, Trustee at the United Methodist Church, Boy Scouts, and various committees for the Apple Festival. He was also the 1997 recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash award that represents an individual who is distinguished by his humanity in living, his loyalty in friendship, his wisdom in council, and his inspiration in leadership.

“We are proud to call Bill a friend, a neighbor, a family member, and fellow co-op member,” says Gillum. “It is an honor to dedicate this building to someone who represents our community and organization the way he does.”
